Teaching by Credited Department Report
Teaching by Credited Department tells you how much teaching activity an academic unit received credit for by the type of instructor teaching. This report presents a summary of key metrics over multiple terms so you can see trends for Enrollment Share, SCH Share, Class Share, Instructor Headcount, and a Classes / Instructor Headcount ratio, by instructor type.
Filters

Year & Semester is required. It defaults to the most recent two fall and spring semesters; you can add summer if you want.

Snapshot is a required filter. The only selection is EOT, end of term, but it is included so that you can be aware of the snapshot.

Report
The default report presents data organized by credited college/school, credited division, credited department, and job census hierarchy.
- Job Census Hierarchy has four levels of detail. Select the Level1 Job Census Hier Desc link in the column heading to drill down for all rows in the report or select a link within the report to drill down on a specific row.

If you have drilled down on Job Census Hier Desc to see more details and then wish to return to a higher level, use the Back and Return links below the report. Back takes you back one level; return takes you back to the original report.

You can move, sort, include, or exclude columns. For example, by moving the Level 1 Job Census Hierarchy to the prompts, you can just view the teaching for one type of instructor, for either one or multiple departments over time. See the Customize Reports chapter in the Cal Answers Basic Navigation course to learn about this functionality.
Report Views
The default report presents counts in a semester view organized by credited college/school, credited division, credited department, and job census hierarchy.
To use a different report view, open the drop-down lists and select your choice.
