When the existing dashboard reports do not have the data in the format with the summarization that you need, you can use Ad Hoc to create your own analysis and reporting. Ad Hoc works consistently across the subject areas in Cal Answers. Separate materials and courses are available for Student Data and Finance subject areas.

Ad-Hoc Analysis Reference Guides – Student Data Perspective

  • Creating Analyses: Learn to use columns, filters, calculated fields, and bins for grouping data.
  • Viewing Analysis Results: Learn to create and use results views such as Title, Table, Graph, Pivot Table, Filters, and Static Text.
  • Advanced: Dashboard Reports: Learn to use view selectors and column selectors, dashboard prompts, and the Dashboard Editor.
