What are the sources of aid that were paid to low income (income <$50K) new frosh entrants who entered in Fall 2021?

Make the following selections in the Common Filters and then select Apply:

  • Financial Aid Yr: 2021-22
  • Semester Nm: Fall
  • Undergrad/Grad: Undergraduate
  • Education Level: 1 – Freshman
  • Registration Elig Status: New
  • Entry Status: NEW FRESHMEN
  • Family Income Range: select $20,000 or Less and $20,000 to $50,000

Note: Education Level is based on units so some entering students are never freshmen because they are entering with credits from exams they have taken. Conversely, students can be education level 1 but not entering from high school if they do not yet have enough units to be a sophomore.

New freshmen entering in 2021-22 received $8.8M in federal aid, $6.9M in state aid, $9.8M in aid from UC, and $0.8M from external sources.

What if we wanted to do the same analysis, but only include low income new frosh entrants who entered in Fall 2021 in the College of Environmental Design?

Expand the Academic Filters and select Clg of Environmental Design from the College drop-down and select Apply.

What categories of UC awards were funded with tuition revenue (fund 20095) for all students entering UC Berkeley in the fall and spring of academic year 2021-22?

Update the Common Filters to include only the following and then select Apply:

  • Financial Aid Yr: 2021-22
  • Semester Nm: Fall, Spring
  • Registration Elig Status: New

Expand the Academic Hierarchy Filters section, remove any selections, and select Apply.

Expand the Chart of Accounts Filters and select 20095 from the Fund Code Id drop-down and select Apply.

Looking at the Source Detail by Award Type chart on the right, we can see that the Scholarship/Fellowship, Grant, Department, and Fee Remission categories were funded with tuition revenue fund 20095 for new students in the 2021-22 academic year.
