Cal Answers integration with UCPath
UCPath is now live. The UCPath website is available at ucpath.berkeley.edu.
The implementation of UCPath affects HR and Payroll Leave Accrual reports. These reports will have data available as of Friday, March 8 from pre-UCPath and then the data will remain static as of that date while we work to transition the data source from Human Capital Management (HCM) to UCPath.
General Ledger reports, Financial Management reports, and PI Portfolio, as well as the associated ad hoc reporting, are unaffected.
The current Cal Answers Payroll Expense Detail report will continue to be updated with funding transfers for pre-UCPath pay through September.

Alternative reporting through Cognos
Overview
Cognos is the UCPath reporting alternative solution to reporting on HR and Payroll data during the transition to UCPath.
In order to help you determine which Cognos reports will be most useful to you, we’ve developed a crosswalk showing how the Cognos reports relate to Cal Answers reports.
Access
The UCPath team decides on access to Cognos and provisions users - the UCPath team has already sent emails to all those who have access to Cognos inviting them to log in.
To access Cognos, go to the UCPath website, choose “login” from the home page, sign in with your CalNet ID and go to “Quicklinks” and then “Cognos”.
Your access to Cognos reports is related to your access in UCPath. Cognos reports are organized by content areas, such as GL, Payroll, WFA. For example, if you have Position Funding access, you should have access to the GL Reports in Cognos.
If you have questions or concerns about your Cognos access, please email hrsecure@berkeley.edu.
If you need access to HR and Payroll reporting data prior to the re-release of the Cal Answers dashboards, please review the UCPath SARA guide and request access via SARA. You can find more information about access via UCPath Transactional User Resources.
Training
The web-based training course entitled “PHCMNAV108: Cognos Reports”is one of the basic required training courses for all Cognos users. Use the link to access the class for a review.
There is also an overview of how to use Cognos available. UCPath is planning in person or Zoom presentations on using Cognos reports is planned for early May.
