Cal Answers Student Data Community:
We have recently created several new Cal Answers Student dashboard reports, in addition to updating several others.
Summer by Multiple Fields
This new report tab is in the Student Demographics & Outcomes > Census dashboard. It provides access to a customizable table of census and end-of-term student counts for Summer terms, by student level, summer student type, and campus unit. The table can display additional fields that you select from a list of 16 choices, including gender, level 1 ethnicity, level 2 ethnicity, level 3 ethnicity, entry status, class level with or without AP units included, registration status, California residency status, and academic unit. You can choose to display headcounts, counts prorated for multiple majors, or percentage versions of either.
Academic Plan Counts
This new report tab is also in the Student Demographics & Outcomes > Census dashboard. It provides access to a customizable table of census and end-of-term counts within academic plans, by term, snapshot, census status, student level, academic program, academic plan type, and tuition residency. The customizable table can show either unduplicated headcounts or prorated counts, grouped by up to 14 fields, including academic career, academic program, academic unit, major, academic plan, academic plan type, degree offered, degree level, student level, snapshot, tuition residency, and census status.
Multiple Plans Detail
This new report tab is in the Student Demographics & Outcomes > Multiple Majors dashboard. It displays the number and percentage of undergraduates with multiple academic plans, as well as detailed counts for each multiple plan combination, similar to what the existing Multiple Majors Detail report shows for majors.
UG Apps by Multiple Fields
We've redesigned the UG Apps by Multiple Fields report in the Student Applicants > Undergraduate Applicants dashboard, so that it uses the new approach of allowing users to include or exclude fields from the displayed data table, rather than having the old column selector dropdowns. The report still shows the same data and the same fields as before.
Census by Multiple Fields
We've added two additional views to the dropdown view selector just above the displayed data table on the Census by Multiple Fields report in the Student Demographics & Outcomes > Census dashboard. You can now have the table show Fall/Spring average headcounts and Fall/Spring average headcount percentages. In addition, all of the filters for this report now allow you to select multiple values, rather than just one.
Degrees by Multiple Fields
All of the filters for this report now allow you to select multiple values, rather than just one.
Training Resources
All relevant wiki pages have been updated with information about these new and enhanced dashboard reports.
The Cal Answers Training page contains a variety of general instructional materials about using Cal Answers dashboards.
