Complete list of PI Portfolio enhancements as of June, 2016

During the first stages of PI Portfolio Phase 3 Projections, we’ve gathered some great feedback from our PI Portfolio community. The enhancements listed below have been made in response to our user suggestions.

General-applies to all the PI Portfolio dashboard pages

  • Dashboard pages now include only prompt values relevant to the selected faculty member for: Fund, Dept and CF1.
  • Fixed the bug that was not allowing projections for faculty with an apostrophe in their name.
  • Fixed the bug that was not allowing projections to appear in the reports for faculty with more than one Employee ID number.

Portfolio Tab

  • Fixed the bug to refresh the Non-Sponsored Report on the Portfolio tab when a different faculty member is selected on a previous tab. Now the data should completely refresh for each selected faculty member even when changing tabs.
  • The Indirect Cost Rate column, available in the right-click menu of the Sponsored Funds report, is now formatted with two decimal places.

Fund Summary Tab

  • The SPO number has been added to the Fund Summary header information.
  • Drill down reports are enabled for “Total Award – Actuals” and “My Allocations – Actuals.”
  • When printing the dashboard page to PDF, the Fund Summary header information was printing without formatting, so it has now been coded to print properly to PDF.
  • All records with value of “0” are no longer included in the drill down reports.

Transactions Tab

  • Dept and Account filters have been added to the Transactions tab.
  • In the Transactions tab only the accounts that match the selected expense type are shown, and the Expense Types are limited to “EXPENSES” only (removed revenue and balance sheet expense types).
  • In the Transactions tab, the day’s date has been added as a note and the format has been adjusted to print to PDF without visible html markup.
  • In the Transactions tab, “Extended” view is now called “Detailed” view for monthly actuals review. All descriptions present in the BAIRS Customer Report (9 column) are available in the “Reference” column of the PI Portfolio report.

Personnel Tab

  • Personnel categories in the “Actuals” views have been updated to match those in “Projections” view.
    • Added GAEL, Other Employee Comp and Fee Remission as separate rows. See details.
  • Employee Name is now the first column in the “Expanded” Personnel view, followed by Fund, Dept, CF1 and CF2 columns.

Projections Tab

  • The order of the sections on the Projections tab now matches the Input Form: Personnel section is first and Anticipated Funding section is last.
  • The “Projections last updated by” column in Projections report now displays the first and last name instead of the user name.
  • The Personnel by % Distribution view has been refined to show the Employee Name first with a subtotal that gives the true total % distribution by employee.
  • In the Projections Input Form, the HR Lookup report and the HCM section have been updated to include post-doc fellows who have 0% distribution in HCM but do receive a monthly salary.
  • Account Type is now mandatory in the Projections Input Form and limits the accounts to the selected Account Type. The Account Types are limited to only those allowed in each section, to prevent users from adding Compensation projections to the Non-Compensation section.
