Cal Answers upgrade offers improved experience

Over the weekend, the Enterprise Data Warehouse team upgraded Cal Answers to the latest version of Oracle software. Key enhancements include:
  • New browser access options
  • Faster dashboard response
  • New features
  • New look
For all these changes, rest assured that the way that you use the dashboards remains the same. There is nothing new you need to learn, other than to pay attention to which browser you use. 

BROWSER OPTIONS

Citrix may already be installed on your computer. Visit Install Citrix to find out if it is, and for instructions on how to install it if necessary. To learn more about Citrix, visit the campus knowledge base

FASTER RESPONSE
Many Cal Answers dashboard reports now run faster. We continue to work on making Cal Answers quick to use, even as it combs through millions of records. 

If you do choose to leave a page before it has finished loading you will now get a message asking you if you are sure you want to leave; just confirm to continue. 

NEW FEATURES
You'll notice new features such as a Favorites menu, better Excel exports (that now work for Macs), flexible Reset button options, and more. Read more

We recommend users do not bookmark a link to the Cal Answers tool because upgrades like this will occur in the future, but if you have - please update all bookmarks to take you to the Cal Answers informational website: calanswers.berkeley.edu. Please always log in to the tool from this website ongoing; the log in link is in the upper-left corner of the website home page.
