Learn Details about a Dashboard
Now that you know the basics of navigating in Cal Answers, you can generate a report from any dashboard to which you have access. There are several ways that you can learn more about a dashboard:
- Read the material in a job aid posted in the Training section for the subject area on the Cal Answers website
- Go to the dashboard and read the text on the Overview tab and follow the links to the Wiki and data dictionary. Dashboard Wiki pages define every report in the dashboard, functionality, fields that can be included, and user experience tips. Data Dictionary Wiki pages define every element in every column or prompt used in the dashboard.
- The VC Financial Planning & Analysis teams host a Dashboard Walkthrough session whenever a new dashboard is launched or significant enhancements are made to an existing dashboard. These sessions are recorded so you can benefit from the content at any time. The Cal Answers website shows upcoming dashboard walkthroughs and hosts recordings from previous sessions.
