Multi-Year Reporting

The Multi-Year Reporting dashboard contains data from the campus ledger, Berkeley Financial System (BFS), and allows you to report on selected financial data across multiple fiscal years. There is a new two-page prompt design to provide the maximum flexibility in filtering your results. This will be especially relevant to financial analysts and research administrators who need to review finances, plan budgets, and track sponsored funds across multiple fiscal years. This dashboard helps with multi-year budgeting, special analyses, and tracking sponsored funds from their inception.

Multi-Year Reporting Tabs

Multi-Year Summary

This tab displays summary information and balances across the chartfields. Dept, Fund, and Account Category are the default columns, but you can choose Expanded view to see the full chartstring, or include/exclude columns on the fly. Data is summarized into columns for Actuals Amount, Encumbrance Amount, and Remaining Balance (less encumbrances). Authorized Budget Amount, Ending Funding Balance, and Temporary Budget Amount are includable columns.

By Start and End Month

This tab displays data in a monthly format for tracking financial trends and seasonality. The data includes activity in all accounts for both current and non-current funds. You are not limited by fiscal year, so this report is helpful for tracking monthly activity across fiscal years.

Multi-Year Detail

This tab displays all types of transactions at the lowest level of transaction detail, including key identifiers for tracing activities back to the source system, such as Journal ID, Document ID, Journal Posted Date, Purchase Order ID, etc. Use this tab to reconcile transactions after the close of each month, or to view selected transactions.
