Cal Answers Student Curriculum - an Operational Excellence project - is integrating course enrollment data into Cal Answers to help the campus inform and transform the way we analyze, support, communicate, and plan our curriculum. The Student Curriculum team worked with analysts and decision makers across the campus to develop the first two Cal Answers dashboards:
In the month of June the campus is focusing on the operating principle, “We simplify.” We're thrilled to see Cal Answers called out as an example of simplifying your work in this new short video highlighting ways in which some Berkeley staff members have streamlined. By reducing unnecessary steps, we can better direct our energy toward our core mission of teaching, research, and public service.
BluCard report
This new report on the Spend dashboard allows you to see information for your BluCard transactions. The report includes both current BFS data for the transactions, as well as data originally supplied by US Bank. Key business questions the report addresses include:
In his May 16 campus-wide announcement, Chancellor Birgeneau updated the campus on the status of our Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) accreditation review. The Chancellor reported that WASC gave UC Berkeley's report the highest rating, “Highly Developed," and that Cal Answers was among several initiatives receiving special recognition from the review panel. Now that we have the ability to view our purchasing and disbursement metrics in Cal Answers, Procurement Services has established campus-wide targets that can help us reach campus goals for savings and operational improvements. Some of the targets represent potential savings within your department, and others will help with campus-wide savings or initiatives such as negotiations on future contracts. Procurement Services will refine these targets over time as we improve campus-wide performance.

The Cal Answers Procure to Pay team recently redesigned its navigation, released the foundational 'At a Glance' dashboard, and provideed two new reports!
New folder structure and navigation
With the introduction of the 'At a Glance' dashboard the folder structure and individual dashboard names have been changed to be more in line with how reports are categorized. Whether you are on the 'At a Glance' dashboard or navigating through the Dashboard menu, the new structure will simplify the navigation process and deliver a more consistent experience.
