Cal Answers Fund Deficits Reporting dashboard now available

May 22, 2018

Cal Answers Financials and BAIRS Community,

We are pleased to announce the Cal Answers Financials Funds Deficits Reporting dashboard is now available. This dashboard includes a Deficits to be Cleared report, which identifies any recharge or other current funds in deficit at the L4 org level, and a Waivers and Tolerances report, which shows recharge tolerance amounts and approved deficit waiver amounts for other current funds. The dashboard will be especially relevant to fund managers.

As BAIRS is scheduled to be retired soon, we encourage you to take this opportunity to use Cal Answers to complete your deficit-reporting activities while BAIRS is still available as a reference to ensure you understand how to find the information you need within the new dashboard.

Fund Deficits Reporting dashboard

The Fund Deficits Reporting dashboard replaces the Department Fund Deficits report in BAIRS that is currently used to view deficits for non Contract and Grants current funds. The reports include:

  • Deficits to be Cleared:Displays all the funds that are in deficit for the selected fiscal year, period, and org(s) and can be used to identity recharge or other current funds in deficit. The report doesn’t include Contracts and Grants because they have their own deficit clearing process.

  • Waivers and Tolerances: Shows recharge tolerance amounts and the approved waiver amounts for other current funds. The report doesn’t include Contracts and Grants funds.
