If you're a faculty or staff member at UC Berkeley, you already have access to Cal Answers.

All UC Berkeley faculty and staff already have access to Cal Answers with the Cal Answers Global Dashboards role. This role is the most commonly needed role in Cal Answers and allows you access to most of the Cal Answers dashboards.

To access Cal Answers, log into the tool with your CalNet ID.

When to request a role in Cal Answers

  1. If you are a UC Berkeley student or an affiliate with an active appointment other than regular faculty and staff appointments (e.g., post-docs, visiting scholars, consultants, etc.), request the Global Dashboards role in CalAccessReview the job aid on how to request access.
  2. If you have tried logging into Cal Answers with your CalNet ID but you cannot access it, request the Global Dashboards role in CalAccessReview the job aid on how to request access.
    1. You may also contact the Cal Answers Help Desk at calanswers-help@berkeley.edu or by calling 664-9000 (option 1, then option 2).
