Register to be a member of the NEW Cal Answers Student Data Community of Practice launching in July 2017 participating in monthly campus-wide Community of Practice collaborative working sessions where you can

  • share best practices via peer‐to‐peer learning
  • inform improvements to processes, procedures, tools, and training materials
  • solve challenging problems
  • create new opportunities for using Cal Answers Student Data on campus

Cal Answers Student Data CoP Mission

  • Increase awareness of the Cal Answers Student data dashboard and usage across campus to support data-driven decision making
  • Create a supportive community of collaborative problem solving of campus questions related to student and instructional data
  • Provide leadership, professional development and networking opportunities for Cal Answers student data users to connect with like-minded data stewards

Cal Answers Student Data CoP Goals

  • Hold monthly meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of each month for campus Cal Answers student data users to meet and share questions and answers
  • Create a repository for sharing data analysis bookmark links and ad hoc query XML
  • Provide input to CoP co-chairs on emerging trends and issues related to campus student data needs
  • Provide forum for feedback on Cal Answers student data enhancements and training materials

Community of Practice Meetings

The Cal Answers Student Data Community of Practice (CoP) provides an opportunity for Cal Answers Student Data users with experience in using the tool can meet with your data peers to discuss and solve for campus solutions. The CoP will meet on the second Wednesday of each month

The CoP is not a training session for new users. If you are in need of training, check out the list of upcoming Basic Navigation training sessions for dates and times.

Our next session is on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, University Hall, room 150. Check back in early August for more details on our agenda: 

  • 11:00 am - 12:00 pm Presentation & discussion
  • 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Brown-bag luncheon and open forum for Q&A, collaborating and networking with your data peers 

Please bring your laptop with an active AirBears 2 key if you would like to work along in the dashboards.
